• What can I expect during our session?

  Our session will start with establishing what it is you want to accomplish during our time. From there I welcome you to share any professional dilemma or situation you’d like to discuss and work through. In my experience it helps to have someone who understand and can empathize with the technical and non technical challenges of being an engineer.

• What’s the difference between this (SDE) coaching service and a generic or business career coach?

  SDE’s have a unique set of options for career growth. However the path for career advancement might be clouded by the more immediate needs of your manager/employer as it relates to the business direction. You employer or manager might approve of you developing along a technical track while disapproving of you making a transition to a product role or management role. In my experience it helps having someone who understands the nuances of the engineering and doesn't reduce career impacting decisions to the need to have "marketable" skills. SDE coaching aims to provide situational clarity that empowers you to make the best decision that prioritizes your future & professional goals independent of the needs of your current manager or employer.

• Can I book a signle session without commiting to additional sessions?

  Yes. Each session is structured to focus on areas that are most important to you. In my experience there are times when a career sanity check is helpful to discover if you're making progress or if there are issues worth exploring.
