About this service

Summary

Enhance your music with a balanced and clear mix that is loud enough to compete with songs across all streaming platforms.

Process

Once the client shares their vision for the track along with the multitrack/stems, and any demo mixes (if present), then the mixing process starts.
When the basic levelling, EQ, compression and additional post processing has been completed, the clients stylistic choices and ideas for their track will be taken into account to ensure the final version is as the client envisioned.
Depending on the genre and style this can range from a clean, modern mix with carefully layered effects, to a more vintage or indie style mix with warm saturation and analog processing, as well as anything in between.
When the mixing stage is finished, the multitrack will be bounced down to a single WAV. File and will be moved to the mastering process. This is a shorter process that will focus on making the final version as cohesive as possible, that will translate well across many different playback devices. After the final touches, the track will be run through a limiter in order to achieve a level of volume that will compete with most mainstream songs on the radio and streaming platforms.
At this stage the client will be notified of the projects completion and will receive a .WAV file (as well as any other requested formats) of the master track for a final review.

FAQs

  • How long will this process take?

Mixing and mastering a track can take anywhere between 1-3 days depending on the size and length of the track, as well as taking into account any specific requirements the client may have.

  • What are multitrack/stems?

Multitrack are the individual audio files that make up the song, depending on the amount of tracks/instruments used this can range from 5 to 30+ files that will have to be sent to me in order to mix your track.

  • What equipment do you use for this process?

For monitoring, I use a pair of Dynaudio LYD 48 monitor speakers and a pair Sennheiser HD600 headphones running through a MOTU M4 audio interface. Aside from that, the rest of the work is done within the DAW using a combination of high quality processing software.
