FAQs

  • Why you?

I have close to a year of experience as a humanitarian translator. I've translated surveys, guides and other documents for eight different international humanitarian organizations namely American Red Cross, Climate Cardinals, Endangered Languages Project, INSP, PramDepot, Save the Children Australia, Télécoms Sans Frontières and last but not the least, UNICEF. I also offered remote Consecutive Interpretation service to American IEP Consultancy firms, facilitating accurate communication and collaboration between Urdu-speaking immigrants in USA and the firms.

  • Why not Chat GPT or Google Translate etc?

Tools like Chat GPT or even CAT (computer assisted translation) tools can provide a literal translation but fail to localize it. Here's a phrase "Break a leg" CAT Tools translate it to "ٹانگ توڑو" which literally means "to break a leg". However a human translator like me would easily recognize the idiom and and translate it in a way that conveys the intended meaning of wishing someone good luck in Urdu. So the correct translation would be "اللہ کامیاب کرے" which means "may god bless you" or "good luck".

What's included

  • Clarification Meeting (if necessary)

I'll contact you via call/message/mail (as per your convenience) soon after the project assignment in case I need some clarifications following my initial review of the source document. This is often necessary in case the document contains homonyms, abbreviations or technical terms. A little bit of your time can ensure the translated document maintains its original meaning and doesn't mislead the recipients.

  • Initial Translated Document

Fully translated version of the source document delivered in English/Urdu (as requested). The file would be in Word format (unless otherwise requested). The translated document will maintain the original structure, formatting, and style, unless otherwise requested.

  • Review & Feedback Meeting

After the initial translation is delivered, I will provide a period for you to review the document and request any revisions or adjustments. Then we can communicate via call/message so you can provide your feedback.

  • Final Translated Document

The final version of the Initial Translated Document(s), incorporating any feedback or changes requested.
