Your product or price list lives in Excel or CSV files typed by hand or exported from different systems. Prices are written in different formats, there are extra spaces, repeated or missing codes, and text where a number should be. I clean what is unambiguous and give you a list of every row I could not resolve, with the reason. Nothing is guessed, deleted or invented.

What you receive
A clean CSV (UTF-8) with the rows that passed every check
A pending-decisions list in CSV: every blocked row with its source file, sheet, row number, original value and the reason, so you can answer each one
An issues list and a change log (before and after for every value I changed)
Traceability from each output row back to your original file
A short summary: rows read, approved, blocked and why
One round of corrections for errors on my side
What is checked
Required fields: code or SKU, product name and price
Prices: formats such as 1.299,00 or 8,9 € are converted to decimals only when the meaning is unambiguous. Values like 1.234 (is it 1.234 or 1234?), negative, zero, text such as "consult" or a different currency are blocked for your decision
Stock: negative or non-whole numbers are blocked
Repeated codes: every row that shares a code is blocked for your decision, also across the two files
Extra spaces, invisible characters and placeholders such as N/A or TBD are cleaned or flagged
Two files with different column names are merged into one table only if the columns match names we agree; I never guess a column
Limits
Up to 2 files (.xlsx or .csv) and up to 300 data rows in total. For more rows, message me for a quote
Product or price-list tables only (one row per item, with columns such as code, name, price, stock, category, description, brand, barcode). Other columns are listed as ignored and are not carried over. Not included: bookings, contacts, accounting data, date conversion, custom business rules (for example totals that must equal quantity x rate), monthly or yearly summaries
No reusable script or macro, no live Google Sheets connection (export your sheet as .xlsx or .csv and send the file), no .xls files, no recovery of leading zeros already lost in your file, no grouping of variants
If more than 30% of the rows turn out to be blocked, I tell you before going further and we agree what to do
One round of corrections per order. New requirements after we agree the rules are quoted separately. I take at most 2 orders at a time
All communication in writing, no calls needed
Before I start I need: your file or a representative sample, the columns you want in the output, your rules (what counts as a duplicate, what to do with doubtful prices) and the output format.
How it is made: the cleaning is done by a program I wrote and tested on synthetic data; I review the exceptions list by hand before delivery. I have not yet delivered this service to a client.
