Devops by Bart NagelDevops by Bart Nagel
Over the years I've picked up a lot of experience in all the other code and configuration which goes into web projects which isn't strictly web development.
It's important for developer quality of life, and also for client quality of life should they need to hire different developers in future, to have a really solid development process. This means a development environment which is well documented and quick to set up, letting the developer get to work right away on what matters.

What's included

Pipeline development
Scripting to automate image transformations, code compilation, optimization, and so on. This might take the form of shell scripts, configuration of Webpack and other tools, and elimination of generated code and assets from the source repository, among other things.
Continuous integration
Automatic builds and tests on code changes. Draft or staging deployments for manual approval.
Seamless deployments
Deployments with no downtime. I'm familiar with bare AWS and other cloud providers, as well as with Heroku, Netlify, and Vercel.
Clear documentation
A new developer should be able to enter a project and quickly start effective work without hours of manual training from an existing developer.
