Recipe Scaler - Framer Component by Michelle de HaasRecipe Scaler - Framer Component | Contra
An ingredient list that rescales itself. Servings stepper, cookbook fractions, metric or cups.
Recipe Scaler turns an ingredient list into something people can use. Change the servings and every amount recalculates, in fractions a cook can actually measure: 1½ cups, not 1.4999. Grams and millilitres round to numbers you can weigh, eggs stay whole eggs, and cups can become millilitres or grams the moment a visitor asks for metric. Everything happens in the browser, so there is no API, no keys and no backend.
What it does
You type the recipe once, the way you would write it in a cookbook: amounts like 1 1/2, ½, 2-3 or nothing at all for to taste, any unit you like, an optional note and an optional group heading such as "For the sauce". Then you say how many servings it is written for and pick a stepper. Visitors do the rest.
What's included
One Framer code component with property controls for everything. Import it once, drag it onto any page, use it as many times as you like.
Features
Servings stepper as buttons, a slider or preset chips, with your own range and step
Cookbook fractions on halves, thirds, quarters and eighths, printed as 1½ or as 1 1/2
Whole item rounding, so eggs, cloves and slices never come out as halves, and the name follows the count
Metric, US, as written, or a Metric / Cups toggle the visitor controls
Weights stay weights and volumes stay volumes, with an optional grams per cup per ingredient
Group headings, notes, ranges like 2-3 cloves, and to taste ingredients
Checkable rows to cross ingredients off while cooking
A copy icon in the corner of the card that puts the scaled list on the clipboard as plain text
The servings controls sit in their own hairline capsule, on the title row or at the foot of the card
An optional torn top edge, so the card looks like a page out of a notebook
Five languages built in (English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish) plus custom text
One or two columns, dense or airy, dividers, and full control of colors, font, radius and sizes
Accessible: a real list, labelled buttons, aria-pressed rows and a live region for the servings
Who it's for
Food blogs and recipe sites, meal prep and nutrition coaches, restaurant sites that publish a house recipe, anyone who has ever been asked "and how much for two?"
Requirements
Any Framer plan. No plugins or external services.
License
Use it in unlimited personal and client projects. Do not resell or redistribute the component itself.
Refund policy
