In 2021, I wrote a cold email copy for a Video Production studio to showcase their services.
My client liked it back then, but looking back now, I realize it wasn't very good.
It was long, not personalized, spammy, and had 2 different confusing CTAs... The perfect recipe to ruin a cold outreach campaign lol.
I had no idea what I was doing at the time - I was just starting out in my copywriting career.
3 years later, I re-wrote that same email with more experience and strategy, using the best practices for writing a successful cold email.
Here's what I did:
Personalized it
Made it short and clear
Avoided spammy words and formats
I used an intriguing subject line that is relevant to the content of the email
I highlighted a strong offer
And I included a clear CTA
