The Five Rings — BreadMakes

The Olympics history in 2048 when this is set stretches back 150 years. I designed with the past in mind. Going into this project, I knew that the content was going to change constantly throughout the process. This symbol combines all continents together in an all new symbol and look.

I designed the typeface ‘Volar Sans’ – a bespoke display typeface for the 2048 Games. Taking cues from design history, lifestyle and sports culture, what was formed was a bold and dynamic typographic system. Instantly recognisable, it captures the bold legacy of the games.
