Story of Blue Moon Flowers

"I created the blue moonflowers, thinking about how it would be living in the moon, going outside, and bringing some flowers home; many of the elements I use in my art are inspired by the moon because the moon is one of my biggest muses. The moon symbolizes serenity, silence, remanence, and power. So lots of the elements on my pieces are symbols that reflect how I'm feeling. At certain moments when I made this piece, I felt calm, and I felt at home." - Camio

Artist & Designer

The project is created with the illustration artist Cami Ortiz and visual designer Barbiana Liu. Our goal is to implement an AR effect to bring the poster to life for a more unique user experience.





Turning 2D Art into AR Poster

We first exported the art into multiple layers with each element and imported all graphics to Spark AR for development. While placing all layers in the target poster as the tracker, I realized that some layers should be positioned a little more to the front in order to view the beautiful vase in real life (separate from the art poster). Then I also wanted to add some animations to bring the art to life, so I developed the rotation animation for the gradient moon in the back.
