I founded Beachgoer while in college, around early 2017. Originally intended to be an online surf shop, it grew into a more dynamic Amazon FBA-centric business.
Starting from scratch, my co-founder David and I created a top-to-bottom solution that covered nearly every aspect of our business, from automating purchase orders with AI to automated replenishments.
Part of this involved tracking nearly 48M Amazon identifiers, and nearly 1M vendor identifiers, with thousands of datapoints each.
This was all warehoused in a centralized Mongo instance, which was also self-managed (as a replica set). The data stored is approximately 200GB.
Profits from the business were reinvested into the Beachgoer brand and website, which I developed and optimized from Sketch references.
Today, Beachgoer continues to operate as a much leaner operation, as an online surf shop and beach brand.
