Plot and key messages This was a training video I produced for Foreign Office diplomats going to work overseas. The video served three main purposes: 1. To educate on the importance of Travel Advice and maintaining it is as a recognised brand for 'credible' information. 2. To ensure diplomats are aware of the 'correct' procedure when assisting in the issue of Travel Advice in the immediate aftermath of a significant incident overseas. 3. In a crisis, think Travel Advice - key point The video depicts the Foreign Office response to an explosion in the Half Way Tree district of Jamaica. We first see Aidan (a locally employed member of staff) and his High Commissioner Kate, who hear the blast from their office in Kingston. Aidan, keen to speak directly to Travel Advice, is reminded by Kate that he must "follow the right channels" by first liaising with the geographical desk in London. He phones Tracy who understands the significance of what's unfolding -- Kate is quick to point out "we don't actually know if it was a bomb or not". Free from any political influence, Tracy liaises with Kevin in Travel Advice who co-ordinates the FCO's online response accordingly. ---------------- The video was my idea and I was responsible for developing this into a film. Project managing the task to a 10k budget, I sourced the production company (film-unit.co.uk) and together we auditioned and agreed on a cast before they filmed and edited it to meet my brief accordingly.
