The Ogg typeface paired with Maison Neue elegantly convey the luxury of the skincare product range. It was imperative to streamline complexity in spacing, layout, and colour palette to establish a recognisable brand and minimise development time.

It’s a big challenge to stand out in a saturated beauty market with a new product, but Sunshine with the help of professional Magnum photographers have brought the Augustinus Bader brand together into something unique. To complement this uniqueness we have chose an irregular and asymmetric layout with a minimalistic typeface — letting the photography do most of the talking.

With the help of my colleague and art director Alex Bones, we painstakingly selected images that work together and visually communicate feeling, skin tones and texture. The website needed to feel refined and elegant, so no detail was too small; down to the tiniest micro-interaction.

We really wanted to step away from the interface looking sterile or flat, so the background colour features a splattered pattern and both the menu and footer use image of skin to reinforce the skincare brand organic feel.

Each component was designed at three distinct breakpoints, corresponding to a CMS managed by Stink Studios. The main product comprises a total of 46 components with a Shopify e-commerce payment back-end.

To meet the requirements of being a global brand, the website has been translated into 7 most widely spoken languages across over 30 locales with supported worldwide shipping.
