Overview

When I was challenged to design and build a fully functional eCommerce site in just 10 hours, I knew every second counted. There was no room for overthinking—just pure execution. The vision? A Game Boy-inspired storefront that would capture the nostalgia of retro gaming while offering a seamless shopping experience.
This is how Project Felix was born.

The Challenge: A Race Against Time

The mission was simple but intense:
• 10 hours to go from idea to launch.
• Aesthetic precision—it had to feel Game Boy authentic while still being modern.
• Flawless UX—users should be able to browse, buy, and trust the store effortlessly.
• Trust-building essentials—an About page, FAQ, and Contact section to make the experience feel real and reliable.
This wasn’t just about speed—it was about crafting a digital experience that felt both nostalgic and fresh.

Laying the Foundation: Structure Before Style

I started by mapping out the essentials:
🚀 Homepage – A sleek entry point, highlighting the best modded Game Boys and accessories.
🕹 Product Listing Page – Categorized and clear, making it easy to browse inventory.
🎮 Product Details Page – High-quality images, detailed descriptions, and purchase options.
📖 About Page – The story behind the store, building a connection with the audience.
💡 FAQ & Contact Pages – Answering key questions before users even have to ask.
Once the structure was in place, it was time to bring it to life.

Designing for Nostalgia

I wanted users to feel something the moment they landed on the site—something familiar yet exciting. A modern love letter to the Game Boy era.
🎨 Typography – Inspired by pixel fonts, but clean and readable.
🟠 Color Palette – The signature Game Boy hues—off-white, soft grays, and nostalgic orange highlights.
🔲 UI Elements – Subtle textures, clean buttons, and a grid layout that felt intuitive yet classic.

The Outcome: A Fully Functional Store in Just 10 Hours

From Zero to Live – The entire project was designed, built, and launched in a single workday.
Effortless & Engaging – Users could browse, explore, and purchase without friction.
Retro Meets Modern – A digital storefront that felt like a Game Boy game itself, but with today’s best UX practices.

Final Thoughts: Designing at High Speed

Project Felix was more than just an experiment in speed—it was proof that you don’t need months to create something great. With the right approach, clear priorities, and a bit of creative problem-solving, it’s possible to build something beautiful, functional, and nostalgic—all in record time.
This is the kind of challenge I thrive on. Whether it’s a quick sprint or a deeply refined project, I bring the same efficiency, creativity, and precision to every design.
