The Client

Whop is a dynamic marketplace that allows users to explore, discover, and purchase access to a variety of digital communities and tools. Their offerings range from online courses and chat forums to specialized tools like trading indicators and sneaker bots. To expand their services and streamline creator interactions with professional agencies, Whop sought to develop a comprehensive directory page featuring profiles of their partner agencies.

Project Overview

The primary objective was to design and implement a responsive website that includes a directory of agency partners. This directory would enable creators to view profiles, learn about different agencies, and initiate contact with them for collaborations or project engagements.

Challenges

Content Management: Implementing a user-friendly CMS that allows Whop's team to easily manage, scale, and update agency profiles without technical assistance.

Responsive Design: Ensuring the website provides a seamless experience across all devices, accommodating the diverse usage patterns of Whop's user base.

Brand Consistency: Integrating Whop's branding elements into the design to maintain a cohesive look and feel throughout the website.

Solutions

Custom CMS Development

Developed a sophisticated yet intuitive CMS that allows easy updates to agency profiles.

The CMS setup

Flexible CMS Structure

To ensure maximum flexibility and usability for Whop's administrative team, a detailed and expansive CMS structure was developed. This structure included:

Skeleton Setup: Created a comprehensive skeleton within the CMS that accommodates a wide range of content types and agency details. This approach provides placeholders for various elements that Whop might want to showcase or hide depending on the context or relevance, reducing the need for frequent structural adjustments.

Conditional Visibility: Implemented conditional logic within the CMS to show or hide specific elements based on the agency's preferences or the relevance of the information. This feature allows Whop's team to manage content dynamically without direct interaction with the underlying CMS architecture.

Scalability and Maintenance: Designed the CMS to be scalable, ensuring that as Whop grows and the number of agency partners increases, the system can handle an expanding database without performance degradation. This setup reduces the need for future significant modifications, focusing on adding content rather than managing system capabilities.

Enhanced Discovery Features

Advanced Filtering Options: Integrated a robust filtering system within the CMS, allowing users to sort agency partners by specific criteria such as industry expertise, service type, location, and rating. This functionality enables creators to quickly narrow down the list of agencies that best match their project requirements, enhancing the user experience and making the search process more efficient.

Search Functionality: Implemented a powerful search feature that includes auto-complete and suggestion capabilities, helping users find agencies quickly based on keywords, services offered, or agency name. This feature is designed to parse through the extensive CMS data, offering relevant results in real-time, thus facilitating an intuitive and user-friendly way to explore potential partners.

Customizable Content for Agency Profiles

To ensure that each agency's profile is uniquely tailored to their specific offerings and characteristics, a highly customizable content system was implemented. This approach allows each agency page to feature exactly what it needs, creating a bespoke experience that highlights the distinct qualities of each partner. The design and functionality were crafted to ensure ease of use for the Whop team, minimizing the effort required to make edits and updates.

Example agency page

Here's how I did it:

Modular Content Blocks: The CMS was designed with modular content blocks that can be easily added, removed, or rearranged by Whop's team. This flexibility allows for the inclusion of diverse content types such as social media handles, logos, images, video testimonials, and external links, depending on what each agency chooses to showcase

Dynamic Content Rendering: Each agency's page dynamically renders content based on the data entered into the CMS. For instance, an agency with an active social media presence can display their latest feeds, while another might focus on presenting video testimonials. This system ensures that the page structure adapts to the content provided, maintaining a clean and professional layout.

Ease of Maintenance: By using a highly intuitive CMS interface, the Whop team can update agency profiles without needing technical skills to update the actual CMS. This ensured that the platform can evolve with minimal effort, continually adapting to the needs of both the agencies and the marketplace users.
