Petrokov B2B Platform Case Study

Project Overview

As the sole designer and developer, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive B2B platform for Petrokov. The goal was to enhance the user experience for construction companies managing product purchases and pricing for their own clients. A key challenge these companies faced was managing their discounts while maintaining profitability, requiring a streamlined solution to optimize the process. With this project, I built the entire platform from the ground up, from user research to the final implementation, including a robust design system, search functionality, and intuitive UI/UX design.

Offers

To address the issue of managing discounts for construction companies, I created an intuitive feature inspired by the simplicity of Pinterest boards. Here's how the core feature works:
Product Selection: Users can add products directly from the product page into their offer lists. If no offer is created, a prompt allows them to start a new one effortlessly.
Customization: Each product added reflects the user's default discount, but users can adjust this rate (e.g., changing a 25% discount to 10%), allowing them to increase their profit margin. This dynamic adjustment instantly updates the total price.
Finalizing Offers: Once the offer is complete, users can easily print, download, or email it. These options are accessible via clear icons with tooltips for ease of use.
Global Discount Application: Users can also apply a global discount across all products in an offer to further simplify their workflow.

Comprehensive Platform Design

Beyond this feature, I implemented a fully scalable and consistent design system that included spacing, typography, buttons, progress trackers, inputs, and all UI elements. The search functionality was overhauled to provide real-time results, making it easy for users to locate specific products and brands within a vast catalog.
The entire platform was built to be user-friendly, with an emphasis on simplicity and seamless navigation. The design system ensured a cohesive visual experience, while the search and filtering enhancements elevated the functionality of the site.

Results and Benefits

The solution significantly streamlined how construction companies manage their offers, replacing the need for cumbersome spreadsheets and external ERP systems. The offer creation feature saved users time and reduced errors, while the intuitive user interface empowered them to maintain profitability with ease.
With this project, I demonstrated my ability to deliver real value through comprehensive research, user-centered design, and effective technical implementation. Acting as a one-man band, I successfully developed a platform that meets the needs of its users while providing a seamless and scalable experience for the client.

Conclusion

The Petrokov B2B platform showcases my ability to solve complex problems through thoughtful design and innovative solutions. By handling everything from user research to final development, I was able to create a platform that improved both efficiency and user satisfaction, delivering a product that truly makes a difference for construction companies.
