Coinbase App Design Revamp

Coinbase is a truly forward-thinking, innovative company that is all about creating economic freedom for people around the world. This starts with continued innovation and iteration of its app.

During my time at Coinbase, I was constantly testing the app, seeing how we can continue to improve it from a front-end and back-end perspective. I had the opportunity to help with a design revamp of one of its programs. From the copy to the flow as well as the design, I worked closely with its lead designer.

What I did:

• Revamped user flows
• Created prototypes with the lead designer
• Conducted competitor research
• Provided copy and content strategy suggestions
• Identified and proposed new ideas for launch phases like animation



What I learned:

• Design revamp — understanding and creating different user flows and design ideas
• Research — looking at competitor research for inspiration as well as how we can make the product stand out
• Figma — deeper knowledge of prototypes and mapping
• Design + engineering collaboration — understanding resource constraint, but adapting with different iterations/solutions
• Coinbase flow vs. mainstream app flow - learned how to merge mainstream app flows to create more concise flows while maintaining Coinbase's flow
