ABOUT GROOVE MUSIC PLAYER

Groove Music (formerly Xbox Music or Zune Music Pass) is a discontinued audio player software application included with Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11. It allowed users to play audio from their local computer or cloud storage and create playlists.



ABOUT THE PROJECT

As an avid international music-lover with a digital library of over 50GBs of albums and singles, and a long-time Windows user, Groove Music has been my main music player app. During the pandemic, I tried several music streaming apps and noticed an opportunity for the Groove UI to be improved to keep up with industry competitors.

Feeling frustrated with the lack of ability to view song credits (one of the ways I discover new music), I designed a concept that would do just that and allow users to interact with and their library and songs in a new way.
