Overview Cold Record is a weekly crime investigation series built for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. The project required a complete visual identity system that could communicate archival authority, institutional weight, and editorial credibility — simultaneously functioning as a social media identity, a broadcast brand, and a future merchandise framework. The channel's premise centres on documented evidence: real case files, paper trails, and recorded facts. The brand needed to reflect that premise at every level of its visual language. The Design Brief The creative anchor arrived early in the briefing process, embedded in the channel's own tagline: "Every Case Has a Paper Trail." That single line dictated the entire design approach. The identity couldn't rely on cinematic darkness or horror atmosphere — those are genre conventions, not brand values. Instead, the visual system needed to communicate som
