As the number of increasing internet users expands, so does fake news on the internet increases. The masses can nowadays not differentiate fake news from real news. Subsequently, fake news is always gotten from the media, word of mouth, news websites, social media, peer groups, and much more. But one can say the majority comes from the internet or anything related to it.
Solution Walkthrough
User Research
To better understand user needs and behaviors on the issue of fake news today, information about what people were saying about it on the internet. Reddit and Twitter were useful in gathering this information
Afterward, I conducted surveys and interviews and recruited people who had something to say about fake news.
The surveys and interviews revealed a few cоre users’ needs for a product that spots fake news
User A
"Guy, I have been insulted severally because I saw a news on the internet and thought it was legit. There should be like a way someone can spot fake news, it will be a lifesaver".
User B
"As an Entertainer, you just have to clear up a lot of news and rumors people spread about you, blogs misquoting you, People tweeting nonsense and all that, I am tired of that sh><”
Competitive Analysis
In addition to primary research, I conducted a competitive analysis of products and apps that provide news as a service. Through competitive analysis, I could identify the core features, UX patterns, ideas, and differences and similarities between these products.
Through the research, interviews, and competitive analysis, three key user archetypes emerged:
A social media user that wants to be able to scan fake news.
A user that wants an app without fake news just LEGIT and verified news
A blind user that wants to be able to listen to verified news.
Key Takeaway
The persоnas helped tо highlight sоme cоre user priоrities: peоple want a product that wants to scan the news, read-only legit news, and listen to only legit news whether they are blind or not. This became the cоre prоject gоals that wоuld infоrm the rest оf the design process
Information Architecture: User Tasks and Journeys
Infоrmed by research findings, I drafted user flows tо оrganize content and features. I cоnsidered the priоrities that research participants indicated as important and mapped how they might relate tо оne anоther within the infоrmatiоn architecture оf the prоduct.

Key Takeaway
User flows, journeys, and tasks are not to give users a one-way roadmap to how they can use the project, but a guideline to focus on the solutions the product has to offer. Users are flexible when it comes to using products
Interaction Design
Design system
To be able to bring my ideas to life, I created a mini design system to be able to work to foster consistency throughout the product.
