SG WildSight is a mobile-first wildlife sighting platform designed for hikers and nature enthusiasts in Singapore to discover and share recent wildlife sightings across local hiking trails and nature parks.
The idea originated from a personal hiking experience where wildlife sightings were often missed unless nearby hikers pointed them out. The platform was created to make wildlife discovery more accessible while encouraging appreciation for Singapore’s biodiversity in a responsible and community-driven way.
To address concerns around wildlife protection and overcrowding, the platform was later refined to remove exact location sharing and instead display only approximate areas to reduce disturbance to wildlife habitats.

Challenges
One of the key challenges was balancing wildlife discovery with wildlife protection. Public feedback highlighted concerns around sharing precise animal locations, leading to design changes such as removing exact map locations, limiting map interactions, and repositioning the platform as a wildlife awareness tool rather than a wildlife tracking tool.
Another challenge was publishing the project as a mobile app for the first time through the Google Play Store. This included handling app permissions, mobile web-to-app wrapper deployment, store asset preparation, internal testing requirements, and platform compliance considerations.
