Nocloz - How a UX audit transformed a BI platform

Nocloz's goal: to make financial BI accessible. Nocloz is a Business Intelligence platform specialising in monthly financial analysis. It enables companies to manage their business via four main business flows: revenue, suppliers, HR and accounting adjustments. Nocloz is generally used by finance teams two days a month. The idea behind the platform is to enable quick and reliable decision-making.

The issue

The starting point: a platform that exhausted its users. Based on the desire to enable finance teams to make quick and reliable decisions, the initial version had the opposite effect:
A learning curve of 5 to 6 months
A heterogeneous interface between the different sections
Systematic relearning with each use
Confusing navigation and non-existent user feedback
The product team was aware of the problem but lacked a clear diagnosis to take action. That's where we stepped in.

The solution presented

Over a period of three months, we conducted a UX audit structured in three phases:
Phase 1 : Overall diagnosis
Heuristic audit based on Nielsen's 10 rules
Mapping of 47 friction points
User testing on the client's real accounting data
Initial UX score following the audit: 65/100
Ultimately, the audit revealed that the real problem was not the complexity of the business, but the inconsistency of the interface.
Phase 2 : Detailed analysis, screen by screen
During this phase, we:
Conducted a comprehensive review of each screen in Figma with a detailed explanation of all interface issues
Prioritised screens according to their UX severity level to determine development priorities.
Phase 3 : Prototyping solutions
Low-fidelity wireframes to rethink the overall UX
3 high-fidelity screens
Redesign of the Hero section
Each phase was validated with the client and iterated based on feedback and constraints. We didn't get everything right the first time around. Some assumptions were adjusted after testing. And that's exactly what reinforced the relevance of our solution.
