As the Team Lead for the Surface Duo Project, I spearheaded the development of dual-display floating views, ensuring seamless compatibility for applications like Facebook’s ChatHeads. This involved deep modifications within the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) View Framework, optimizing it for multi-screen environments.
One of my major contributions was leading the successful integration of screen overlays into the Android View Framework, enabling dynamic, resizable, and interactive floating views across dual-screen devices. This work enhanced user experience, improved app compatibility, and pushed the boundaries of Android’s multi-display capabilities.
By navigating complex AOSP modifications and collaborating cross-functionally, my team delivered a robust, scalable solution that redefined how apps interact with foldable and dual-screen hardware. Team Leader for a team of 4 on the Surface Duo Project View Framework.
