Ticksy: Daily Planner & Productivity App

Productivity apps tend to fall into two camps: oversimplified to-do lists that lack structure, or complex project management tools that feel like work themselves. We wanted to build something in between: a daily planner that's powerful enough to organize a busy professional's day, but simple enough to actually use every morning.

We chose Flutter with Riverpod for reactive, testable state management and Supabase for real-time backend sync. The UX was designed around a single principle: the user should be able to plan their entire day in under 2 minutes.

Daily Planner View Built a timeline-based daily view where users drag and drop tasks into time blocks. The interface adapts to the user's schedule density, expanding and collapsing sections intelligently. Overdue tasks are visually flagged without being disruptive.

Smart Task Management Tasks support priorities, categories, subtasks, due dates, and recurring schedules. The creation flow is optimized for speed: a single text field with smart parsing that detects dates, priorities, and categories from natural language input.

Focus Timer Integrated a Pomodoro-style focus timer that links directly to active tasks. When a focus session completes, the task progress updates automatically. Session history is tracked and visualized in weekly productivity reports.

Habit Tracking Built a habit tracking module with streak counters, completion rates, and visual calendars. Habits can be linked to daily goals, and the app sends contextual reminders based on the user's typical completion times.

Real-Time Sync All data syncs in real time across devices via Supabase Realtime. Offline support ensures tasks created without connectivity are queued and synced when the connection returns.

Analytics Dashboard A weekly and monthly analytics view shows productivity trends, task completion rates, focus time distribution, and habit streaks. Charts use smooth animations and are designed to motivate, not overwhelm.

Ticksy achieves its core design goal: users can plan their day in under 2 minutes. The Riverpod architecture keeps the app responsive even with hundreds of tasks loaded, real-time sync works seamlessly across devices, and the focus timer has become the most-used feature in user testing. The offline-first approach means the app never feels broken, even with spotty connectivity.
