For the Facebook Messenger redesign, my design process began with a thorough analysis of the existing app, identifying key pain points and opportunities for improvement. This was followed by a competitive analysis to gain insights into industry standards and user expectations. User interviews were then conducted to gather firsthand feedback and insights, which were organized using affinity mapping to identify patterns and themes. From this data, How Might We statements were formulated to define the problem space, leading to ideation sessions focused on generating solutions to address specific challenges. The proposed solutions were evaluated for their impact on user experience and business objectives, culminating in a comprehensive redesign aimed at simplifying the interface, enhancing feature discoverability, and fostering better connections among users.
