Last Friday, I got a message from a client: "Can we get our Shopify store launch-ready by Sunday?" Challenge accepted. Over the weekend, I: • Defined the implementation strategy after understanding the client's vision. • Customized the Heritage Shopify theme from the ground up. • Designed and built reusable Shopify 2.0 sections. • Optimized the site for responsiveness across desktop, tablet, and mobile. • Fine-tuned the UX and polished the store until it was ready for launch. One thing that made a huge difference? I used ChatGPT throughout the project—not to replace development, but to accelerate it. It helped me move faster with Liquid, CSS, JavaScript, section architecture, debugging, and repetitive tasks, so I could spend more time making thoughtful design and user experience decisions. Shopify Theme Customization & Custom Development They approached the project with approved Figma designs and a clear vision for their online storefront. My role was to transform those designs into a fully functional Shopify experience while maintaining complete visual accuracy and ensuring the site remained flexible and easy to manage through Shopify's Online Store 2.0 architecture. Working with the Prestige theme as the foundation, I customized and extended the theme extensively to match the provided designs pixel-for-pixel. I developed custom Shopify 2.0 sections and blocks using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, creating a modular content system that allowed the client to easily manage and update page content without requiring developer assistance. Throughout the project, I carefully structured and combined sections where needed to deliver the exact layouts, interactions, and user experience specified in the Figma designs while maintaining performance and scalability. In addition to front-end development, I implemented several custom features and integrations to support marketing and customer engagement, including custom forms, Klaviyo integration, and appointment/booking functionality.
