Excel & Data Analytics | Dashboards, KPI & Reporting

The difference between a report and a dashboard Most people use these words interchangeably. They're not the same thing. A report tells you what happened. A dashboard shows you what's happening. The difference: Report → static, detailed, built for documentation Dashboard → dynamic, visual, built for decisions The mistake I see most often: People build dashboards that are actually just reports. The result? — Decision makers scroll through pages of data — Numbers are outdated by the time anyone reads them — No one knows what to act on The fix is simple: A report answers: "What happened last month?" A dashboard answers: "What do I need to do right now?" When you design for the right purpose: Reports become clear records. Dashboards become decision tools. One looks back. The other drives forward.

Most small business owners I talk to have the same problem — their data is scattered across WhatsApp messages, paper notes, and half-filled Excel sheets. They know something is wrong. They just don't know where to start. Here's what I do in the first 30 minutes of any project: ✅ Understand what data you have and where it lives ✅ Identify what's missing, duplicate, or inconsistent ✅ Suggest the simplest structure that works for your business No complicated tools. No jargon. Just clean, organised data you can actually use. If your business data feels messy and overwhelming — let's fix that together. Message me and we'll start with a free 15-minute consultation. 📊

The era of the specialist is over, and honestly, good. First Data Scientist, then UI/UX, and lately I've been making AI visuals- both pictures and videos. Here's what I got wrong first. Most AI videos are bad because people ask it to make a whole scene. You write a paragraph, hope for the best, and do it again. It's like a slot machine with a monthly fee. So I stopped writing prompts and started giving it pictures. I made a still first. A still is easy to judge and easy to throw away. If the light and the crop are right, I have made every decision before anything moves. Then I animated that still. Six seconds. One job. Nothing else moves. Then the fun part. I took the last frame of that clip and used it as the first frame of the next one. That frame had a hairline crack across a mirror. So the second generation didn't need a mirror described to it. It already had one. Cracked. Lit the way I lit it. All it had to do was break the thing. And lo and behold, within three iterations, I achieved my anticipated result and merged the videos together. So, personal lesson is to develop such videos upon last frames from the desired output produced- akin to the software development WATERFALL model- damn, once a techie, always a techie :P - what a complex and narrowly understandable analogy. So: how was it? Be honest. And what say you? Do you agree with my hook?

HEARTWOOD Landing page & brand direction for a slow-living botanical skincare line Heartwood makes skincare for older skin, so the whole thing had to feel unhurried and kind rather than clinical. I brainstormed and wireframed the structure in Figma, building it on a wabi-sabi palette — warm bone (#F5EFE6), deep walnut (#5C4033), and a muted wood taupe (#655C55) for the accents — with Fraunces carrying the calm headlines and Inter handling the body. There's no pure black or white anywhere; every tone sits a few degrees warmer. Because the audience skews older, accessibility drove the calls: body text never drops below 16px, tap targets stay generous, and every pairing is contrast-checked to WCAG AA. Motion is limited to slow fade-ins — nothing that startles. The wood-grain heart logo and product imagery were generated and cleaned up in ChatGPT, the hero clip came out of Veo, and I built the final responsive site in Framer — with Claude as a design-and-build partner throughout. Tools: Figma (wireframing & design) · Framer (build) · Claude · ChatGPT (imagery) · Veo (video)

I wanted her website to feel like her music. Ruelle has been in my rotation since Shadowhunters. Her songs are dark cinematic, enigmatic even which is why they keep landing in prime time shows yet in contrast her site is white and quiet. So I rebuilt it in her musical persona. There's music on her original site, but there's no player. You hunt, you click, you wait, you leave. So the rebuild has one job. Make the listening happen on the site itself. A bespoke working turntable at the centre, built as a code component. The records carry her own release art, cropped round with the hole punched through. Browsers won't autoplay audio. So the tap on the vinyl record became the opening. Concept piece. The hero is a photograph of her, animated with Kling. And in the last moment, I just added these cursor effect of floating musical notes- to make it more cohesive with the theme :) Do let me know y'all if you have ever listened to any song by her, and if yes, which one? Also, do let me know your thoughts on this reconceptualisation and rebulid.

Paw Treats Brand refresh & playful landing page for a small-batch dog-treat company Paw Treats needed to feel as friendly as the product — oven-baked treats made with real meat and veggies. I rebuilt the brand around teal (#1C8493), warm brown (#47311F), and cream, all taken from the hand-lettered logo, and leaned into rounded, cheerful type with Fredoka and Nunito. The direction and wireframes came together in Figma. The hero runs a dog being handed a treat behind a soft teal scrim, under "Wholesome treats worth the wag." One constraint solved two problems: the clip had a watermark in the corner, so I placed a "loved by 2,000+ pups" rating card exactly there — it hides the mark and doubles as social proof. The dog footage was generated in Runway and Kling, the logo redrawn and cleaned up in ChatGPT, and the final bouncy, playful build shipped in Framer — with Claude helping throughout from concept to build. Tools: Figma (design & wireframing) · Framer (build) · Claude · ChatGPT (imagery) · Runway / Kling (video)

Branding isn’t just a logo. It’s an experience.Imagine if Snapchat launched a premium smoothie café. Every touchpoint…from the cup in your hand to the storefront, pickup window, delivery bag, and billboard…speaks the same visual language.

I used the same image-generation prompt across Gemini, ChatGPT, Grok, and Snapchat AI to compare how each platform interprets identical instructions. It was interesting to see how every model produced a unique result in terms of composition, realism, lighting, and overall style. The exact prompt used is included below for reference. Prompt: The woman/Man in reference wearing baggy clothes looking at the camera from in between a motion blurred urban croud at shibuya crossing the woman is in his early 20s, there should be open pores, slight pigmentation and micro texture, the camera is placed at a 60 degree angle above the man and all the croud exept the man is moving motion blurred --chaos 5 --ar 3:4 --raw --stylize 250 --hd #snapchat

Question for designers and founders: Do you think mood affects design quality? I’ve noticed that on days when I’m focused and relaxed, I make faster design decisions and produce stronger work. But on stressful days, I tend to overthink details and spend more time revisiting the same screens. Same tools. Same experience. Different results. I’m curious: How do you stay creative and productive when you’re not in the right mindset? Would love to hear your thoughts.

I noticed something interesting on Zomato’s website. Users come to order food. The website wants them to download the app. So I explored how the desktop experience could be improved while still supporting business goals. What would you do differently? #UXDesign (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23uxdesign&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #ProductDesign (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23productdesign&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #UIDesign (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23uidesign&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #UXCaseStudy (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23uxcasestudy&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Zomato (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23zomato&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED)

From morning till evening, I worked on transitions, cuts, effects, and tried to make it look professional. When I showed it to a few people, they said it wasn’t that good. Honestly, that feedback completely killed my energy. Later, I decided to recreate the same idea using AI tools. Surprisingly, everyone said the AI version looked much better. It made me realize something: Sometimes we spend hours on execution while people only judge the final output. They don’t see the effort behind it. As creators, should we focus on the process, or should we simply use every tool available to create the best result possible? I’m curious: Have you ever spent hours making something only to realize a faster method produced a better outcome? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
