The training begins with the concept and components of an indicator, Pine Script structure, data types, variables, functions, inputs, conditions, and programming logic. It also explains how values are calculated and displayed on charts using plots, shapes, and colors. The training covers indicator-design principles, code organization and documentation, the difference between indicators and strategies, the use of historical and real-time data, and how to avoid repainting and errors caused by future-looking data. It also introduces the basics of creating alerts, testing logic on historical data, identifying errors, improving readability and performance, and understanding the limitations of backtesting. Misleading claims and profit guarantees are avoided, and appropriate disclaimers are emphasized. The focus is not on creating, selling, or publishing ready-made indicators on behalf of the client. Instead, it teaches the rules and concepts needed to develop, understand, and test indicators independently, while introducing relevant TradingView policies concerning publication, privacy, and intellectual-property protection.
