AFTER THE SIGNAL: The System Chose Consistency. The Human Chose Meaning. For the Envato × Contra Human by Design challenge, I created AFTER THE SIGNAL, an editorial design system about a specific creative conflict: What happens when the automatic answer is polished, coherent, and still wrong for the meaning? Issue 01 established a confident visual system. For Issue 02, the automatic recommendation was obvious: repeat the same typeface, image language, density, and rhythm. The result was consistent. It was also too certain for a story about the silence before anyone knows whether a system has failed. My Human by Design moment was not “make it different.” It was: REPEAT THE ESTABLISHED IDENTITY × PRESERVE WHAT ISSUE 02 NEEDS ✓ I redirected the typography, grid, hierarchy, spacing, image meaning, motion rhythm, and sound around hesitation and uncertain transmission. Envato was used across: ImageGen VideoGen SoundGen MusicGen The fjord became the language of stability. The relay became the language of uncertain transmission. The handoff click marked the exact moment human judgment took control. The tools generated the visual and sonic ingredients. Human judgment decided what they meant. Interactive prototype: https://actor-sweat-63115452.figma.site THE SYSTEM CHOSE CONSISTENCY. THE HUMAN CHOSE MEANING. #envatochallenge #HumanByDesign #MotionDesign #CreativeDirection #EditorialDesign

Day 8/30 — OFFBITE Most snack brands place a mascot on every package. OFFBITE does the opposite. Each cookie flavor carries only one fragment of a shared negative-space system. Separated, the cartons remain abstract. Aligned, they reveal one collective presence. The system extends into motion and behavior without adding eyes, a mouth, or literal limbs. Expression comes through weight, distance, compression, and form. A self-initiated speculative project exploring packaging, brand systems, motion, and 3D art direction. View the full case study: https://faadil1.github.io/offbite/ Would this make you stop and look twice on a shelf?

INNER CALDERA: Visual Exploration This experiment started with a familiar visual trope: a landscape reflected inside an eye. Instead of pushing it toward fire, spectacle, or a “lava iris,” I wanted to move in the opposite direction. The idea became an ancient dormant caldera compressed into a living human iris. The pupil remains completely black, almost eclipse-like. Around it, cooled obsidian forms irregular ridges, eroded peaks, mineral fractures, and barely visible residual heat. Natural iris fibers are still present between the geological structures, while moisture and tear film keep the eye unmistakably alive. The main challenge was balancing two readings at once: a real human eye and a geological landscape that feels millions of years old. I explored multiple variations in topology, material behavior, depth, and light before selecting the versions where anatomy and geology felt like one continuous structure rather than a landscape pasted into an iris. AI-assisted image exploration, iterative art direction, and visual selection. #ArtDirection #DigitalArt #VisualExperiment

This short ad i animated a couple of months ago was the first time that i was able to truly merge ai-animated elements into my usual vector animation workflow. It's mostly animated by hand in after effects. but frame-by-frame of birds flapping their wings would not have been realistic with the time we had. by sprinkling just the right amount of ai where it matters, we get something that works well together ✨

I rarely do cel animation, but it was a really cool challenge to do some frame-by-frame for the title section I animated in the explainer of the Crankworx mountain biking competition. Full video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=or5OB8cVAsw

As a snowboarder myself, it was really nice to get the opportunity to design and animate some of the assets for Chasing Winter (https://www.redbull.com/ca-en/films/chasing-winter), a snowboarding movie from Redbull.

K-07 Most HMIs are designed for a single environment. Not just visually, but informationally. Each mode surfaces only what the pilot needs in that moment. Some data disappears intentionally. In Rive, this runs as a three-state machine : Surface, Takeoff, Flight with each transition animated independently using data binding and nested state logic. We used Claude AI, Midjourney, Photshop and of course Rive to create this cool interactive project. What if Uber was in pre-seed and needed a launch video? Here's how I would make it: Tell how they changed the industry with old footage of taxis Explain how the problem was and how painful it was Make the solution as simple and obvious as possible Did I nail it?

Made a paid ad video for Orchid, the AI executive assistant that lives in iMessage (YC-backed). It texts you your day, drafts replies, books meetings, you approve and it handles the rest.

Victor is an AI operator for macOS that handles your email, calendar, and Slack before you even open the app. The challenge: explain a product that's genuinely new, not a chatbot, not an automation tool, in 60 seconds, without dumbing it down. Script structured in four acts: problem, agitation, solution, CTA. The problem act uses kinetic type and an abstract cursor to show the manual grind. The solution uses the real product UI, animated step by step, to show exactly what changes. Art direction follows the product's own visual language — restrained, editorial, confident. The video was used as Victor's primary launch asset and directly contributed to increased signups and product traction, as confirmed by the client.
