The Erica Banks series follows the main character, an amateur assassin, who started out her killing career avenging the sexual assault which left her sister paralyzed by systematically killing the perpetrators. She’s clever and always a few steps ahead of investigators, but at some point starts feeling the heat and needs to get out of Dodge. Centered around New Orleans, the plots all revolve around water in some way thus the watery vibe to all the covers in the series so far.

Tania Teschke, is the author of The Bordeaux Kitchen (https://bordeauxkitchen.com/), a cook book celebrating French cooking, culture, and ancestral food traditions. Tania realized how dry and chaffed hands can get after working in the kitchen long hours. She was inspired to create Bordeaux Kitchen Naturals, a line of handcrafted balms and soaps with lard, beef tallow, and other organic ingredients. During Covid, she’s given countless samples to front-line workers in her area to help sooth their chaffed hands and faces.

In order to gain traction in a competitive space, Taproot Geo needed a solid brand identity that readily communicates what they do—tapping the Earth to deliver turnkey geothermal systems that reliable heat and cool residential and commercial buildings. By harnessing the constant temperature of the Earth, they’re able to provide a greener solution to their customers that allows them to save money while cutting their reliance on fossil fuels.

The Foundation, a Bay Area nonprofit, needed a logo that reflects the organization’s mission as well as the founder’s vision. The Foundation educates underserved youth about nature, fitness, nutrition and community through athletic programs. helping them reach new heights of fitness and personal growth. All-in-all the process took time, but in the end the client was ecstatic with the results. He really felt like the logo reflects the organization’s mission, and his vision.

The Pots restaurant located in San Francisco’s Sunset district, was in dire need of a makeover from the interior decor to the logo design. ’Berta’s friend, a successful restauranteur, bought the existing restaurant from the previous owners and set about to make it her own—updating the logo, signage, menu offerings, and interior decor. The previous interior and logo were dated, so a fresh look and feel was long overdue.

Created a new brand mark for an educational nonprofit following a merger. While the branding of the previous organization, Developmental Studies Center (https://leaveittoberta.com/portfolio-items/developmental-studies-center/), was primarily focused on literacy, the new directive was to emphasize collaboration and community, and to move away from a strictly literacy focus. The new mark evolves the this nonprofit educational publisher’s logo with a focus on students, diversity, and collaboration, with a nod to books.
