YouTube thumbnail enhancement! I enhanced the thumbnail of a YouTuber who wanted to create a video about struggling areas of the United States. I integrated the portrait photo into the lighting of the burning White House imagery, and used curves with levels to improve the richness. I then used two layers of shadow to emphasize the silhouette of the portrait. Next, I created a strong hook question to entice viewers to click on the video and understand what’s happening in the scene. Finally, I moved the portrait over to align with the rule of thirds and added spacing for the hook.
