Cover image for John reached out to me
John reached out to me last week about creating an ASL-friendly presentation slides; My response to him was "all slides should be ASL-friendly". Easier to follow for everyone. Presentation design is 80% storytelling and 20% research. Visual appeal is not enough. Try mind appeal.

Cover image for Design is psychology, not logic. The
Design is psychology, not logic. The best designs don't convince people. They make people feel. People rarely buy because a layout is perfectly aligned. They buy because the experience feels effortless. They remember brands that create emotion before explanation. That's why premium brands invest in: ✦ White space instead of clutter. ✦ Typography that communicates confidence. ✦ Visual hierarchy that guides attention naturally. ✦ Simplicity that feels intentional—not empty. Every pixel has a job. Every margin creates breathing room. Every font choice sends a message long before anyone reads the words. Great design isn't decoration. It's behavioral science wrapped in visual storytelling. When users say, "This looks expensive." What they're actually saying is, "I trust this." That's the invisible power of thoughtful design. As designers, our responsibility isn't to make things look beautiful. It's to reduce friction, build credibility, evoke emotion, and influence decisions without overwhelming the audience. Because people don't experience brands through logic first. They experience them through perception. And perception shapes reality. Design psychology will always outperform design that only looks good. What's one design principle you believe has the biggest impact on perception? 👇 I'd love to hear your perspective. #DesignPsychology #GraphicDesign #BrandDesign #Typography #Minimalism #UXDesign #CreativeDirection #VisualIdentity #DesignThinking #BrandStrategy
