Designing discovery around relevance, not endless swiping. ❤️ One of the biggest challenges with dating apps isn’t a lack of options. It’s too many options. When users are presented with hundreds of profiles, finding someone who genuinely fits their preferences can quickly become overwhelming. More choices can mean more swiping, more decision fatigue, and less meaningful discovery. For Jaffo, I explored how the experience could make finding relevant people feel more intentional. That led to the Top Picks experience. Instead of asking users to manually filter through an endless stream of profiles, Top Picks brings forward users who are more likely to align with their profile and preferences. The idea is simple: Less searching. Less decision fatigue. More relevant profiles. Better opportunities for connection. The screen also gives users a clear distinction between their regular likes and profiles Jaffo believes deserve a closer look. Because a good dating experience shouldn't just give users more people to choose from. It should help them discover the right people faster.
