Prototyping with real-world scenarios, even fictional ones, is one of the best ways to sharpen skills, so here's a "client-style" exercise: a website hero animation. Keeping motion clean in hero sections is trickier than it looks. Every bit of movement needs to earn its place, or it just competes for attention instead of drawing people in. This is a mockup solar flower hero, built and rendered in Blender using Eevee for fast real-time iteration. The animation itself is intentionally simple and the real focus here was on the rigging setup driving it.

Testing out some variants of Blender’s new built‑in materials. Making something pretty feels almost effortless right now!

Pushed motion blur to the extreme on this one to give the cardboard tube mockup a punchy, kinetic feel rather than a static product shot. Built and rendered entirely in Blender, using exaggerated blur to show motion while keeping the packaging design legible.

Guitar knobs turning, jittered depth of field, rendered in Eevee with raytracing on. Trying to see how close I can get to that Cycles-style DOF without the Cycles wait times. This test landed way closer than expected; good sign for faster turnarounds on close-up shots like this.

Made a quick loop of the Vitra All Plastic Chair as a mini product-animation exercise and added a touch of coffee shop ambience to the background... it’s amazing how much a simple layer of sound grounds a render and makes a space feel lived-in.

If you're ever feeling stuck for creativity, I suggest looking back at your old work to see what you'd improve. It’s a great way to measure progress without the pressure of starting from scratch. I recently opened up my project archives to do exactly this. What started as a simple modeling exercise evolved into a full lighting and material study. I used this session to refine the metal textures and dial in the studio lighting, all within Blender.

Some of my favorite renders are the ones where I show restraint and don’t overcomplicate things. Simplicity often wins when you’re creating solo. Made in Blender.

I've really enjoyed working with The Kind Mail Club to bring their characters to life! Really love what they're building and great to be a part of the journey! It's been fun doing more character animation! Let me know if Herbert makes you smile :)

Just finished this solar panel flower animation in Blender! Wanted to explore a more stylized approach to renewable energy design
