Here’s How I Handled My First One
This week, Contra messaged me saying Stripe flagged a new client’s payment with a higher-than-usual risk score. The payment went through fine, but the system suggested a slightly higher chargeback risk.
I chose full transparency.
Here’s what I sent the client (calm and friendly):
→ Payment received with no issues → Stripe flagged her account → Might be worth checking with Stripe → Our project timeline is still on track
Why transparency? → It builds trust → Protects both sides → Prevents misunderstandings → Gives me documentation → And honestly, it just felt right
I’ve never had a chargeback in my entire freelance career… so let’s hope my streak stays at zero!
