I found George Cruikshank's hand-coloured etching "Monstrosities of 1821" in the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, labelled Public Domain Mark. Every year from 1816 to 1825, Cruikshank published a plate mocking the most absurd fashions of London's parks, so I decided to continue his series 205 years later. I cropped the plate into five references to build a Recraft V4 Style that keeps his etched lines, watercolour washes and caricature faces. Then I pushed real 2026 trends to the extreme: balloon trousers, shield sunglasses, giant collars, cow-print fleece, sleeves that drag on the ground. Finally, I dressed his original 1821 crowd in 2026 fashion, down to a robot poodle.
