Henry Ford said, "If you think you can do something... or you think you can't do something, you're right."
That's exactly what happened to me. On one of the freelance platforms I enjoy using, a client wrote:
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Project Manager with experience in website development, e-commerce, software, UI/UX, and design projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of projects and products from start to finish. This role requires strong decision-making skills, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to work directly with clients.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee website development, software, e-commerce, UI/UX, and design projects
• Coordinate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure timely project completion
• Conduct QA reviews and ensure deliverables meet quality standards
• Monitor project progress, timelines, and deliverables
• Make informed decisions regarding project direction and product improvements
• Communicate professionally with clients through group chats and meetings
• Identify and resolve project bottlenecks and challenges
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, Product Manager, or similar role
• Strong understanding of website development and software projects
• Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, etc.)
• Experience using project management tools such as ClickUp, Asana, Jira, Monday.com, Trello, or similar
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and make sound Decisions Here, I considered how to address the lack of specialized expertise: some technical projects fail due to the absence of a project manager with experience in e-commerce and UI/UX.
Time pressure: the company's rapid growth necessitates completing numerous projects in a short period.
Implementation gap: some teams are content with theoretical design, while the client requires practical, actionable results.
Ineffective communication: the lack of clear communication between the team and the client leads to delays or misunderstandings. This reminds the client of Henry Ford's quote: "If you think you can do something... or you think you can't do something, you're right." I insisted on executing the client's requirements with the utmost professionalism in that project.
In the project designed by Figma, the data is displayed on the left upon entering the website designed for the client.
Dashboard This section is the platform's homepage, displaying an overview of all projects, their progress status, and important alerts. Its purpose is to give the manager a quick overview of the overall situation without delving into details.
E-commerce Here, the company's e-commerce websites are managed. This includes monitoring stores like "Fashion Shop," tracking sales, maintenance status, and the checkout experience. This section focuses on direct business operations.
Website Management This section is dedicated to managing various websites (such as vame-corp.com or dev-dash.vame.io). It displays the deployment status (Live, Maintenance, In Development) and progress percentage. The goal is to track the lifecycle of each website from development to launch.
Communication This section manages internal and external communication between the team and clients. It helps address poor communication with clients and ensures that every team member is aware of what's happening.
Design System This section documents all design elements (buttons, colors, fonts, components). Its purpose is to ensure visual consistency across different projects and facilitate error-free development.
🎯 Challenges Solved Across These Sections Poor Project Navigation → Resolved with a unified dashboard.
Dispersion Between E-commerce and Websites → Separated E-commerce and Website Management.
Communication issues within the team were resolved through the Communication section.
The lack of a unified visual identity was resolved through the Design System.
🌍 Practical Benefits: Managers can see the status of every project instantly.
Business owners know that their online stores are under control, whether they are operational or undergoing maintenance.
The team communicates faster and more clearly, reducing errors.
A unified visual identity makes all company products look professional and consistent.
In this way, the sidebar is not just sections, but a comprehensive roadmap connecting management, e-commerce, websites, communication, and design on a single platform. When I believed I could deliver what the client wanted, I was right, proving Henry Ford's saying: "If you think you can do something... or you think you can't do something, you're right."
